Job market data

Change management is one of the functions most heavily staffed through recruitment firms — roughly one in three postings we track comes through a search partner, and the role is almost universally requested when AI or digital programs reach real deployment. Base compensation for mid-senior change managers generally lands in a $110K–$175K range, with director-level roles clearing $200K. Certifications like PROSCI, ADKAR, and Kotter's 8-Step Change Model appear in the majority of the postings we see; the strongest change managers we place combine strategic thinking with genuine willingness to run the workshop and draft the email.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead organizational change management workstreams for AI, digital, and transformation programs

  • Partner with program leads on change strategy — impact assessment, stakeholder mapping, communications, and training

  • Deliver executive-ready communications and training materials at pace

  • Run change readiness assessments and track adoption after launch

  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions at all levels of the organization

  • Coach business leaders through change they own, even when the conversation is hard

  • Build the change artifacts that survive beyond the program — playbooks, principles, and internal practice

  • Contribute to the firm's broader change-management capability over time

Candidate requirements

  • 5+ years of change management experience on technology, digital, or transformation programs

  • PROSCI, ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent change certification

  • Strong written communication and facilitation skills

  • Experience supporting AI, digital, or enterprise technology programs preferred

  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on — nobody drafts the comms for you

  • Comfort with ambiguity in scope and rapidly evolving programs
