Job responsibilities
Own the enterprise data strategy — define architecture, governance frameworks, and roadmaps that align data initiatives with business objectives
Build and scale the data organization — recruit, mentor, and develop teams spanning data engineers, analysts, scientists, and data stewards
Drive data infrastructure modernization — evaluate, select, and oversee implementation of platforms, warehouses, and tools that enable analytics at scale
Partner with business leaders to identify high-impact data use cases — quantify ROI and shepherd projects from conception through production
Establish data governance, quality standards, and compliance frameworks — balance accessibility with security and regulatory requirements
Lead cross-functional initiatives — integrate data insights into product, marketing, finance, and operations decision-making
Manage budget and vendor relationships — optimize technology spend and negotiate contracts for tools, cloud infrastructure, and external expertise
Candidate requirements
12+ years in data engineering, analytics, or data science — with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role managing teams and strategy
Proven track record building data platforms and infrastructure from concept to production at scale
Strong technical depth — hands-on knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and modern analytics stacks
Experience defining and executing data governance, quality assurance, and compliance programs in regulated environments
Ability to translate business problems into data solutions and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing data teams
